Pre Arrival

Seeking Immigration to Saskatoon? Come well prepared!

Before you arrive, connect with us to receive a personalized welcome email giving you a chance to self-explore all the information and links provided on topics such as:

  • Canadian culture and life
  • Saskatoon communities
  • Employment and Settlement assistance
  • Accessible pre-arrival services for PRs
  • And more……

Pre-arrival services are offered by the Government of Canada to immigrants selected to become Permanent Residents before coming to Canada. They are FREE and help newcomers prepare for their move, settlement and employment in Canada. Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada will often provide information on your eligible pre-arrival services in an invitation letter.

Or see more options!

Settlement counselors/advisors prefer clients to set up an appointment once they have landed in Saskatoon. We welcome you to visit the Newcomer Information Centre first and the staff will be happy to refer you to the settlement support that is right for you!

Depending on your situation, you may have family or friends to give you advice

There are still things you could think about:

  • What to do when you arrive at YXE Airport
  • Plan for both short and long term accommodation
  • Prepare for the weather by checking the forecast – we have hot summers and long winters
  • Review Living in Canada
  • Plan a visit to the NIC!

Remember we are here to help! Contact us anytime at info@nicstoon.org.
